Where the Blue Industry Turns Green

Solve Locally, Scale Globally

We have a dream. A dream about how the world would look like, with net-zero emissions, livable cities and clean oceans that foster life and biodiversity. We believe the dream can become reality – but a dream without a plan is nothing but a fantasy.

We have set out to create an innovation cluster, physical and abstract, where partners together work to develop smart and sustainable solutions to solve the challenges we face within trade and logistics - on emissions, waste, biodiversity, resources, and more.

Our aspiration is to be a lighthouse of sustainable progress, demonstrating that local solutions can create a ripple effect, leading to global change.

Vision

In 5 years, Ocean Valley is a globally leading sustainability cluster and innovation model driving solutions and regional growth at the intersection of energy, logistics, maritime, ocean and citizens.

In 10 years, Ocean Valley is the world leading model to drive regional growth and global change.

Our History

Core themes

At the inception of Ocean Valley, a collaborative effort brought together diverse stakeholders from both Sweden and Denmark. Together, they deliberated on key themes essential to Ocean Valley's mission of fostering a sustainable change within the maritime industry. The following three core themes were identified to propel the green transition of the blue industry forward.

Resource-efficient Power and CCUS*

Embrace a cleaner world with Ocean Valley. We're on a mission to trim emissions and boost power efficiency in the maritime industry. Let's spark projects and activities that make waves for a greener tomorrow.

*Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage

Ocean Resources

As a highway on water, the ocean bears the weight of heavy traffic, though less visibly than its terrestrial counterpart. Ocean Valley endeavors to cultivate awareness and initiatives that conserve the ocean's resources, treading lightly for a more sustainable journey.

Smart Logistics

Ocean Valley sets sail for sustainable logistics. Beyond the waves, our impactful collaborative projects and partnerships accelerate innovative smart logistics solutions, redefining even the last mile for a greener planet.

Guiding Principles

Complementing the three core themes, Ocean Valley has established two guiding principles that will permeate every facet of our activities, projects, and initiatives. These principles are designed to enhance scalability and maximize our utilization of port access within Ocean Valley, serving as guiding beacons for our collective efforts.

Sustainable People Experience

Ocean Valley transforms sustainability into a shared journey. From gathering insights and seeking acceptance to ensuring financial sustainability, our projects prioritize people. Join us in shaping a future where every individual contributes to lasting environmental solutions.

Eco-system Experimentation

Ocean Valley's close partnership with Copenhagen-Malmö Port provides an ideal canvas to trial pioneering solutions in authentic settings. Our close ties unlock opportunities to engage with key stakeholders within the ecosystem, ensuring real-world impact and meaningful innovation.

Current Projects

Dive into the work that drives Ocean Valley forward. From carbon capture to port electrification, our projects turn ideas into action and push the maritime industry toward a greener future.

By creating an ecosystem with large corporations, organizations, academia, investors, mentors, tech startups, infrastructure operators, as well as Malmö Stad and Copenhagen Municipality, we will unlock synergies and knowledge across the region in the best way possible.

Combining physical space, the community, the port, and funds, the ecosystem of Ocean Valley will attract leading talent, investors, and policymakers across the globe -enabling "needle-moving" innovation and real change.
