2019: Strategic Birth of Ocean Valley
Ocean Valley was born as part of Copenhagen-Malmö Port's strategy process in which CMP aims to become one of the most sustainable ports in the world.

2022: Collaborative Vision-Shaping Workshop
Significant stakeholders from both sides of Oresund participated in workshops conducted by CMP and EY to align scope and purpose. Three core themes and two guiding principles are identified.

2023: Grant Fuels Ocean Valley's Launch
The Danish Maritime Foundation awards a grant to CMP and EY to support the initiation of Ocean Valley.

2023: Pioneering Projects Initiated
Stakeholders from both Sweden and Denmark define and kick-off two Proof-of-Concept projects within carbon storage and electrical operations on ports.

At the inception of Ocean Valley, a collaborative effort brought together diverse stakeholders from both Sweden and Denmark. Together, they deliberated on key themes essential to Ocean Valley's mission of fostering a sustainable change within the maritime industry. The following three core themes were identified to propel the green transition of the blue industry forward.

Carbon Hub Project
As CO2 supply rises, effective reuse becomes paramount in minimizing footprints. Ocean Valley explores the potential to store and reuse CO2 portside. The Carbon Hub project delves into use cases for CO2 utilization and economic drivers for operating carbon hubs, with integrated production capability being a key focus for sustainable solutions.
